Yellowhead Mining announces the appointment of Andreas (Andy) Graetz to its Board of Directors
Andy Graetz was appointed a Director of the Company and Chair of the Audit Committee effective October 21, 2008. Mr Graetz has over 30 years experience in mine operations, project and corporate development, finance and administration in the South African, Canadian, Philippine and USA mining industries. Mr Graetz has a BSc in Mining Engineering and an MBA from Brunel University in the UK and is a Canadian citizen.
Mr Graetz is currently CFO of Altynalmas Gold Ltd., a private company in which Ivanhoe Mines has a strategic interest. From June 2005 to July 2007 Mr. Graetz was the CFO of Thistle Mining Inc., a public gold mining company listed on the TSX and AIM markets. Prior to this, for a period of over 10 years, he held various senior technical and financial management positions with the Placer Dome Group, including Manager Corporate Finance, Manager Business Services for Placer's North American operations and Chief Financial Officer of South Deep operation in South Africa, a joint venture between Placer Dome and Western Area Limited. From February 1989 to October 1994, Mr Graetz was the Consulting Engineer for Lonrho South Africa's platinum operations.
Andy stated "I am looking forward to contributing to the advancement of the Harper Creek project. I am impressed with the scale of the project, low stripping ratio and proximity to first world infrastructure. In the current economic climate the development of Harper Creek is challenging, but I believe the project will be an early beneficiary of an expected recovery in copper prices because of its advantages."

His broad understanding of all phases of mineral project evaluation, planning, development and operations, as well as his corporate governance experience as a board member of public and private companies, will be a real asset to the Company as we advance the Harper Creek project towards production".
